Songwriting Hall of Famer Julia Shuren is breaking musical boundaries with her unique blend of R&B/Soul, Dance, and Pop. Unbound by genre, her soulful vocal arrangements and soaring melodies first caught the attention of legendary Motown songwriter Paul Riser (Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige). Soon after, she was featured on PBS’s “Detroit Performs” for her songwriting abilities.
Having recently graduated with a Master’s in Music Composition from NYU, Julia is making her mark as an artist in New York City and performing internationally from London, England, to Toronto, Canada. With over 8 million streams, she has been featured on some of Spotify's biggest editorial playlists, including New Music Friday, Mellow Morning, Poolside Grooves, Outliers, Tropical House, and more.
Hey y’all, thanks for making it to this page. Looking past the resume, I aspire to be an artist who stands for authenticity and good juju (hence my Instagram name, hehe). Being heavily inspired by old music, I think our modern world could use a little more “old-school” energy. I'm excited to share this piece of art that I’m working on—my first full-length album to be released soon. Peace and love :) <3
Music yo.
“Don’t put yourself in a box”, those were the words of Pharrell Williams as he was accepting his induction into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame, and that’s exactly what I intend to do.
Dark pink skies
All beautiful things must come to an end for new ones to begin - even a beautifully painted sky.
NOW I DON’T…[CARE]

Flipside DEBUt EP
Five songs written by just me myself and I. My first body of art released as an artist. Cuz there’s a “flipside” to everything … and I’m just trynna go through life looking at the brighter one.
Devil on my shoulder
